Otōto

Called ‘Little Brother’ by us, Otōto was the first cabin built by a local Japanese family.

Warm and cosy in winter, cool in summer and filled with light, this perfect couples’ escape has everything you need to make the most of your private luxury cabin. Antique Japanese furniture, light fittings, windows and doors blend seamlessly with iconic vintage designer chairs and bespoke handmade furniture to provide a unique Japanese log cabin experience.

After spending the day on the nearby mountains, relax by the fire during winter or enjoy the deck, BBQ and fire pit area over summer.

When you’re ready for the ultimate indulgence, slide back the traditional antique screen doors, take in the views and bathe in the stunning natural spring water onsen.

This very special onsen was handmade using local river stones and also features wooden details crafted from precious Japanese Cypress (Hinoki) by traditional Japanese carpenters. Full length glass windows slide open to provide beautiful views of the Konbu Range, put you amongst the trees and make you feel at one with the forest.

Make the most of the fully equipped kitchen and Hokkaido’s reputation as having some of the best fresh produce and seafood in the world by preparing delicious home-cooked meals with your own fresh ingredients and our kitchen pantry stocked with beautiful local Japanese basics. There’s even a collection of Japanese cookbooks for inspiration. Fire up the barbecue or cook over the the fire pit (in summer).

When you’re ready for bed, climb the ladder to the loft bedroom and sink into the handmade king size Japanese style bed with windows overlooking the forest and distant mountains.

In the morning, rise with the sun and prepare yourself a freshly brewed local coffee with the espresso machine and you’re ready to start your day’s adventure.

Warm and cosy in winter, cool in summer and filled with natural light, this private luxury cabin is the perfect couples’ retreat.
