If you are seeking a more authentic Japanese experience, The Little Onsen Cabins are centrally located within a natural hot spring area with a huge selection of nearby onsen (not to mention your own private onsen in each cabin). There are also some amazing local restaurants and izakaya full of character to choose from (we’ll recommend our favourites).
The cabins are far from the crowds yet conveniently located within a short drive from everything you need.
Local restaurants, izakaya, convenience stores and supermarkets are within a 5-20 minute drive. It’s only a 5-7 minute drive to the Moiwa and Niseko Annupuri ski resorts and a 20 minute drive to Grand Hirafu. In winter The Little Onsen Cabins are perfect as a base for those looking to take advantage of the superb side and backcountry terrain in the area, as well as for those who just want to enjoy the tranquillity of staying in a forested village.
Hokkaido is often referred to as “the last wilderness of Japan” and is home to some of Japan’s most pristine landscapes.
Summer in the Niseko area is all about experiencing some of the world’s finest seafood and fresh produce, beautiful lakes, mountains and forests and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle. Its mild summers attract nature-lovers from across the country looking for relief from the humidity of the main island. There are many hiking trails and lookouts all around the area and due to the natural beauty and cleanliness of the rivers, here you can enjoy river rafting, SUP, canoeing and kayaking. Our favourite day trips include a scenic drive to the stunning Lake Toya, hiking in the nearby forest, visiting man of the local art galleries or having lunch at an oyster shack in a fishing village along the coast at Suttsu.
